Le Chasseur 食乐轩

We celebrated the mother's birthday at Le Chasseur 食乐轩!
As dinner was just after my brain taxing class, I was hungry and grumpy.
Have not tried the food at this place before but heard that this place opened at this location not too long ago. It was not too hard to find the place because I drove. There are parking lots beside the food center. Heard from my family that it is only a short walk from Eunos train station.

I will sort of classify Le Chasseur as a Zi Char strore. It is a very spacious place and there are 2 zi char stores located there. The other one sells more of seafood. Other than that, there is a drink store and also other food stalls that were closed when we were there for dinner. They probably do not serve the dinner crowd. There was an area cordoned off just for Le Chasseur and that area was full by the time we got there (around 7pm). However, there were still plenty of seats outside the cordoned area so no worries about not getting seats for dinner!

I love their cutleries! I am going to get similar ones for my future home.

Pork knuckle

The famous claypot rice
We ordered quite alot of food. Salted vegetable duck soup, coffee pork ribs, grilled cuttlefish, 2 kinds of vegetables, otah omelet,  pork knuckle, 2 servings of claypot rice. The other food looked normal so no pictures of them!

The salted vegetable duck soup was good! Not too salty, not too sour. Portion was alright for the 6 of us. I love my soups and this one passed! Coffee pork ribs was alittle bitter to me. Maybe because I personally don't like coffee. Otah Omelet was slightly salty but will go very well with rice. I like the sauce that came with the pork knuckle! The pork knuckle without the sauce was just normal but the sauce made it alot bettter! The claypot rice was very well received. The rice was the right hardness. Not too hard/ soft. The rice that they use are also different from the rice that we eat daily. These grains are longer. The rice with the sauce and ingredients make up a really good claypot rice. The only thing is that the rice came last and we were already full from all the food in front, we over ordered. The large portion itself would have been sufficient for the 6 of us but we added another small one because the lady mentioned that the large one might not be enough for 6. That will be true if the rice came first.

Overall, I will return for the claypot rice and salted vegetable duck soup!

Of course there will be cake for a birthday celebration. At the point in time, we were all so full from the food. Luckily we got the smaller cake.
