Japan again!

I am so excited!

So I love all things Japan and when i saw that Soup Spoon was having a contest that allows people to win trips to Japan, I had to take part in it. I only found out about this contest near the deadline so we had to visit Soup Spoon ASAP.

There were 2 ways to win prizes.

1: Instagram contest

2. Lucky Draw

I took part in both. Because of my carelessness (i forgot to bring the lucky draw card out) so we had to redrink 3 soups at 1 go. For the instagram contest, we specifically went down to a particular branch for natural light! So many people took part in the instagram contest so we did not expect much but........ we won! OMG SO THANKFUL! The prize was plane tickets to Tokyo and 3 nights accomodation. Japan we are coming for you!

Sun Moon Lake (五船民宿)

At Sun Moon Lake in Taiwan, my brother booked a 民宿 (五船）.

Not like the typical 民宿 that I've stayed at, this 民宿's rooms have different themes.

There are 4 different rooms in the 民宿 and we booked 3 out of the 4.

The last room that we didn't book has the lego theme.

Japan 2014 (Day 5 and 6)

Day 5 was a day trip in Kyoto.
First stop: Philosopher's Walk
I think this attraction is suitable for the cherry blossom season and fall season where there are things to see. On a normal day, all you see are green leaves. It's pretty but with the whole stretch looking the same, it gets pretty boring towards the end.

First stop, Ginkakuji. There's Kinkakuji and Ginkakuji. Kinkakuji is the more popular attraction. After I visited the place, I can see why Kinkakuji is more popular. Kinkakuji seems more lavish and because the temple is gold. As for Ginkakuji, it's not too shabby. The place is quite pretty as well.

Headed to Uji next for our favourite soba.

It was raining the last time we visited Byodo-In so we went there again. We got in near closing time do we had to walk quickly. The place looks even better with the sunset.

The place was really beautiful and zen.

Day 6: OSAKA!
The sky was lovely that day. We planned a trip to the famous aquarium in Osaka and we were really looking forward to it.

We spent the night at Dotonbori.
Dotonbori has lots of shopping and food and because of the lights, I think it is better go be there at night to see the lights and the グリコman. Of course you will have to eat Takoyaki in Osaka! Cheewee had the takoyaki (i'm not a tako fan) while i had some street snacks like scallop.
